Hello there! I don’t know if anyone ever comes on this site, and if they do, I don’t know whether they scroll down far enough to see that there’s a blog attached to it. If anyone does, hi! Welcome! You might be the only person to ever read this post 😂
Anyway, I’m making this blog post to inform you that I don’t really use this site anymore. The second-to-last post (before this one), “The Private Updates” referred to how I was struggling with how to best communicate my work. Well, I ended up creating a whole web-app for this purpose called Weeklog, and have basically been working on it (off and on) for over three years now. It’s become my main development journal and portfolio, and has been live for some years.
There are currently two versions of the site – the ‘stable’ legacy version which was built mainly in 2020, which you can visit at https://lachlansleight.io. You can read all about its development on its Project Page. There’s a new version of the site that I’m working on at the moment (and have been for a good while) which is still quite experimental and a little unstable. You can visit it at https://weeklog4.vercel.app. Eventually I’ll take the old site down entirely and switch over to the new one. Probably at this domain! Check out the Explorer Page on the new site to see some of the cool things I’ve been adding to it!
To give you a sense of what’s on these sites, there are over 1,000 development entries, hundreds of projects, lots of screenshots, photos and videos, and lots of interesting interactive visualizations of what I get up to. I record virtually everything I work on every day within the site, so the volume of data I’ve built up is pretty extensive. I end up with portfolio project pages effectively ‘for free’, so I haven’t really bothered to update this site with anything I’ve worked on for the last ~3.5 years. I’ve been busy!
So…yeah that’s all for now. If you read this, go check out the new site and stop coming to this one 😉
