Circle of Chords

Circle of Chords was the final music-generation project I worked on over a several year period.

It was a proof-of-concept for a circle-of-fifths-based approach to modulation and songwriting I had been thinking about, which involved an algorithm taking into account dissonance of composite notes and distance around the circle-of-fifths of the root notes of chords.

The processing sketch was designed to visualise this algorithm, and to output music via MIDI to a DAW, where I could design the instrumentation and rhythm of the generated chord patterns.
